Credit Card Debt Elimination Options

Most American’s have one thing in common, debt. Regardless of what we plan when we are starting out, most of us end up with more debt than we planned. For many families, it is student loans and credit cards. College has to get paid for somehow, and loans are often the means to do it. Before we can pay them off, we are married, then a mortgage and children follow.

It this describes your situation, then it is time to eliminate your credit card debt now. How to do it? Have you seen the movie Heat? I am kidding here. That method will likely land you in jail! So where do you start to eliminate credit card debt? First, take a look at the number of credit cards you have and the interest rate for each one. Write this all on a piece of paper. Once you have done this, go online.

Do a Google search for credit card consolidation. You want to find a great offer to combine all your credit card debt into one low payment. You want to focus on finding a lower interest rate than you have now. To consolidate, you will need to either take out a loan or acquire a credit card with a sufficient credit line, then transfer all of your current cards to the new one. Pay close attention to the APR. This will help you pay off your debt and stop spending your hard earned money on the interest. Eliminating credit card debit is going to take time, more time than it does to accumulate it.
